We live in a world filled with variety. Among 7 billion people living in this world, there are more than millions of traditions and customs worldwide. Each is depicting a different story, history, and personality trait. One tradition can define the whole society or people involved in that custom. Some of them are proud of it, and some may be weird to even think about. We will be talking about some of these odd cultures around the globe.
Bullet ants of Brazil
In modern society, one of the most disturbing things humans do is that a man has to prove themselves as a masculine and macho being; otherwise, they are considered a disgrace. It is sad to see that this is still going on in this era. However, in the Satire Mawe tribe, they took things to a more dangerous level. When the boy reaches a certain age, they have to collect bullet ants whose stings are 30 times more painful than a bee and put all of them in a bag. And with the pack swarming with ants, the boy has to put their hands in for hours and dance with them on. This tradition depicts that the boy has finally become a man if he succeeds in doing so.
Broken dishes of Denmark
Sometimes superstitions can make a person do unimaginable things, but in Denmark, the tradition is plain weird and makes no sense to the world outside that territory. Everyone wants good luck, and some depend only on their luck for something to happen. As said before, they can do crazy things to bring that luck in. In Denmark, the people throw dishes like plates and bowls outside their houses. They believe this will bring good luck into their home and life. However, this seems like a holy tradition for them, but it is pretty unusual and a waste of money and products for the world.
Dancing with the dead
As the title says, they dance with the dead. In the Malagasy tribe of Madagascar, the people there dance with the dead ones of their families. Once in seven years, this ritual is done. They dig up the dead body from their graves, dress them up and dance with them. The belief is that this keeps their loved ones still alive among the family and society as well. At the same time, this is a festival for them, but the world is utterly disrespectful and creepy.
Be late in Venezuela
Being punctual is one of the best qualities ever to have, but the case is the opposite in Venezuela. It is almost like a sin to be on time or early. So the later you arrive, the better you are. Like guests who arrive on time are considered greedy. It looks like a lot of people would love to be in Venezuela.
These were some of the most mentionable ones among all the other weird cultures there can be in this vast world.
